INSIDE ANTS

“ Look at an ant. Watch it closely; let it teach you a thing of two.” (Proverbs 6:6, MSG)

I’d rather not, thank you anyway! Ants, the last things I want to see first thing in the morning on my kitchen counter.

“I can’t find the trail…just creepy black ants crawling randomly.” Dennis nods over his coffee cup, rocking in his recliner, unmoved by my antsy dilemma.

What do you do when you see ants on your cabinets? I kill ‘em.

  • But first I have to find the source, the trail from whence the little critters crawled.

  • Second, I have to take everything off countertop, spray it with RAID,

  • Thirdly, I go through all the stuff I’d stuck on the side, receipts that need shredding, coupons, medication receipts, gum, cough drops. You get the picture.

I suppose I did take a lesson from the ant, busying myself cleaning the long overdue. Once you start wiping

down stuff, you see all the things needing attention, cabinet doors, spices, reorganizing, etc.

“Take a lesson from the ants.” The proverb popped into my mind turning my frown upside down.

It sure feels good to accomplish something first thing in the morning whether or not it was on the agenda.

“Nobody has to tell it what to do. All summer it stores up food; (from my kitchen) at harvest it stockpiles provisions. So how long are you going to laze around doing nothing?” (insert mine)

Now, I’m laughing, .’cause my little cleaning frenzy woke my hubby who is now vacuuming and mopping! LO L!

Thank you, Ant, for the lesson, and more thanks to you, King Solomon, for penning important proverbs. I offer

even greater praise and thanksgiving due my Abba Father, who inspires proverbs, promises and proclamations, to the praise of His Glory.
