“My God, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.”
(2 Chronicles 6:40, NIV)
Jacob ran around the house where I couldn’t see him. Long ago and far away we lived on the corner of two busy streets. My four year old grandson loved to hide. I caught him by the azaleas and promptly led him to the front porch steps where I lowered myself to eye level cupping his face in my hands, “Look at me; listen to me!”
Do you ever feel like you need to get God’s attention, “Look at me, listen to me; do you see me praying in my special place”?
That wasn’t exactly Solomon’s prompting in his prayer of the temple’s dedication, but I can’t help wondering how I sound when approaching my Heavenly Father from my special prayer place.
