“Hey, Mom, watch this!”

Once upon a time, our son, David, just as every child, clamored to be seen achieving goals.

Saturday, on the way home from his second son, Jacob’s high school graduation, we texted. As usual,he teased me about growing old.

Then, “Love you Mom. I feel blessed to share moments like today with my parents. It’s kind of like when you are young and you say, 'Mom, watch this'. You wanted your parents to see what you were trying.

“It’s the same watching your kids graduate. I want to say, “Mom, Dad, watch this! My boys are graduating.”

“It means a lot to have you here even though you are old…really old.”
